I took it easy last night and decided to just focus on two mixed game mtts: the $50 PLO8 msops event and the $75 5k weekly HOSE event on ftp... I donked out of the PLO8 within the first 30 minutes with a busted nut low and gutshot straight draw... I played the hand bad and should not have gotten involved with it so early for my whole stack...but, I managed to make up for it by shipping 1st place in the HOSE event. I really love this event, because it rarely meets the overlay and the play is definitely below average. I really wish I could upload the HH and go over some hands, but the Hand history replayer on PXF doesnt cooperate with StudHi and Stud8 Nonetheless, it was a great feeling to be Chip Leader halfway through the tournament and to go on to close it.
Also, the coaching has gotten underway.. I received some great interest and have already had a few sessions with students... 1 of whom made a final table last night and took 5th out of a field of 513 and another whose aggression factor we have been working on, and is already seeing deeper runs with a 2nd place finish a few nights ago. I am really excited to be working with players who are committed and motivated to making an improvement...who don't spend their time complaining about getting unlucky, but rather take initiative to change what they have control over.. their skillset and decisions....I get a lot out of it when I am coaching as well...it not only keeps me focused, but teaching solidifies concepts, and the questions they ask, force me to think and analyze on a deeper level.. so its working out great... There are still open slots if anyone is interested.
I am taking the afternoon off and going to watch the new Pelham123 flick that just came out with Denzel and Travolta.. and then tonight is the HU $100 MSOPS.. def going to take a shot in that and I'll probably play the mixed event as well, though I'm not sure what it is.
Gotta run for now.. best of luck at the tables peeps
